Who We Are
The General Association of Renal Patients (A.G.I.R.) was founded on October 2, 1979, with the goal of bringing together individuals affected by kidney disease, dialysis, or transplantation, as well as all supporters interested in our activities and mission.
Following a trip to France, Paul Berthou was inspired to form a committee and implement procedures to establish a non-profit organization aimed at improving the quality of life and circumstances of those living with these conditions—through fair and legitimate means.
- By creating a communication network among individuals facing similar challenges related to kidney disease, enabling the sharing of information that can improve their lives;
- By promoting the social reintegration of those living with kidney failure, empowering them to take greater control over their living conditions, make the most of their skills, contribute positively to society, and support adolescents in their education;
- By facilitating meetings among those affected by the disease, as well as organizing vacations, travel, and other forms of leisure, activities, and personal initiatives.
